Organically Growing specializes in creating earth friendly designs that are both beautiful and functional. From roof top container gardens to medicinal herb beds to large edible landscapes, we make sure the client's needs are met as well as the needs of the soil, plants, and wildlife. We use principles of permaculture but in a more artful way than is typical. We have an eye for color and pride ourselves in creating spaces that are irresistible. We also specialize in creating gardens for kids, with bean tunnels to crawl through and plant covered forts to play in, as well as healing gardens to bring some relaxation into your daily life.

Phoebe has been growing food for over a decade in locations such as Arizona, Oakland, Seattle, Sacramento, and Santa Cruz. She has certifications in permaculture design and horticultural therapy. Aviva has run a large scale event planning business for years and is a master at organizing crews and making big projects run smoothly for clients. We have been friends our entire lives and the creative alchemy that happens when we are together is not to be underestimated! We are also deeply committed to social and environmental justice and our business practices reflect those values.

Available services:

Design for DIYers: After visiting your location and hearing exactly what your hopes, dreams, and challenges are for the space, we'll create a permaculture based design for your space including paths, special features, and a plant list. This is the most affordable way to get a professionally designed garden and a great option for those who want to plant and build themselves.

Consultations: regarding anything landscape related you are dealing with-- setting up a composting system, what to do about an area that floods every winter, how to make a garden accessible for wheelchair users, what trees to plant and where to plant them for maximum shade and cooling effect, how to support more pollinators, or whatever else comes up! Available via phone or zoom as well.

Design and installation: I design an earth-friendly garden and oversee the installation.

Container Design and Installation: With your input, I pick out the perfect containers for the space and plant them with the appropriate mix of plants for beauty and longevity. In addition to ornamental arrangements I specialize in growing edibles in containers. If you've always wanted to grow food but only have a small, sunny balcony, we can make it happen with the right containers and crops!

Garden refresh: for previous clients we offer a "refresh" option that is an affordable way to get the garden looking fresh again. Plants grow and change and sometimes die, it's the nature of gardening; we'll asses and figure out what your space needs.
